M3 Headlight buld upgrades

   I have just fitted angel eyes to my '96 Evo. Liik great but do nothing for headlight performance. I noticed during the install that the standard bulbs are just standard H1 55W halogens. Has anyone tried fitting higher power bulbs? Did you notice any delay in the higher power bulbs powering up. 
Iam hoping that the standard wiring can cope with increased load. Please provide details of what you fitted? What are the xenon look bulbs like?
PS - i bought the angel eyes kit from Jamie McEllan at DDEUK. Service was excellent.
