Apparently this design by Transportation Design students at Turin-based IED (istituto Europeo di Design) for 2015.

The concept design for BMW they came up with looks like it belongs in 2115, not 2015. The BMW ZX-6 Concept by Jai Ho Yoo and Lukas Vanek is full of crazy curves and lines, and while yes, it is more aerodynamic, I'm not sure just how practical it is.

Personally I can't see how something as radical as that could be developed and marketed within five or six years. If you look under the odd wheels, etc. there may be a shape there that could be used though!

Quote BMW of 2015

A brand of exception and a moving challenge: this year the students of III the year of the triennial Course post-diploma in Transportation Design - car design (a.a. 2007-2008) of the IED of Turin they have been puttinges to the test from BMW, the whose philosophy arranges from always the aesthetic search of innovative designs to the best technologies, fascinating public of all the world.
 
To plan BMW of 2015, interpreting the evolution of the language and the essence of the brand, to the light of the expectations generated from the future society: this the objective of the thesis plan that, in the first phase, previewed from the students a search of product and style projected in the future, whose turned out they had successively to be applied to concrete scenes of a tomorrow next one to the present.


The 35 students have been subdivided in 18 groups, coordinated from Fulvio Fantolino, Coordinator of the Course of Transportation Design - Car Design and holder of F&F Design Study, and followed in it is made inner of the progettuale development from a BMW commission formed from Thomas Plath, Director Model Techniques and Process Management, and from Anders Warming, Director Design BMW Exterior, with the supervision of Chris Bangle, Chief of Design for the BMW group.

The proposals elaborated from every team have been successively selected and, between the 12 choices, 8 have been realized with models in scale 1:4, thanks to the collaboration of Cecomp, while the remaining 4 have been developed like virtual models.
 
The models are visible near the center of the IED of Turin, in Via S. Quintino 39, occasion of “fine Apriti IED” till september 2008 with timetable 9 - 13 and 14 - 18. Free income.

I take it that nobody told then about the twin headlamps, kidney grille or (excluding the ZX-6) the Hoffmeister kink!
