Lovely procession around Monaco Yesterday! Ok, there's no overtaking really and as Hamilton said, "all I could do was keep my 5th place to secure the points" but I thought Alonso was excellent, his overtaking was class and well calculated and was a good watch for 30 minutes or so but then came Schuey, now THAT is the old Schumacher we all know and love. Overtaking right on the line, making that cheeky move count. Totally awesome and what's more, Mr Brawn was ready with photo's to prove they were in the right because I'msure his old arch rival, Damon would have loved to find fault with that lol!

Only 19 points between Weber and Hamilton, still wide open and totally unpredictable. Just can't wanit for the next race now!

Mike

I'm not a Schui fan, but I hope they win an appeal, or at least have the time penalty reduced so he only goes back the one place.

for the F1 "geeks" amongst us the rules are IMHO ambiguous -

40.7 - ...With the following exceptions, overtaking is forbidden until the cars reach the first safety line after the safety car has returned to the pits. ...

40.11 - ... As the safety car is approaching the pit entry the yellow flags and SC boards will be withdrawn and replaced by waved green flags with green lights at the line. ...

40.13 - If the race ends whilst the safety car is deployed it will enter the pit lane at the end of the last lap and the cars will take the chequered flag as normal without overtaking.

So Ross used 40.7 to tell him he could overtake, whereas 40.13 says he can't.

Mr Hill was only there in an advisory role - but all Stewards have to apply the rules as they are written.

Cats know your every thought.

But don't care.

Mercedes Petronas GP not appealing stewards decision.

Think rules and interpretation need discussing between the teams. In my opinion, the rule should be, safety car in, danger has passed therefore they can race, end of!

KICK ASS!  What a race! Cracks showing in red bulls armour? If it's not reliability, it's two drivers who are hell bent on beating each other at all costs, no, I'm not on about the McLarens lol although that was some awesome racing from the pair.
Come on McLaren!

It was so good I watched it again last night! Best this season yet and we're not even half way. I'm thinking/hoping McLaren will continue to drive at Red Bull, perhaps then taking the season to them and taking over as it seems Ferrari are too far behind and Mercs just can't find that last second or so.

Bring it on!

The best team won, the old Schumacher came shining through but looked a little bitter having to give way and the cracks are showing in the red bulls. Ferrari look like they are turning a corner but too little too late? Time for McLaren to shine!

I know but it excites me lol! It's a marathon but just as the going gets tough, the tough get going? One of the best seasons for years, can't wait till the next race! So much so infact, I just downloaded a McLaren app for my phone, gives all the up to minute F1 news as well as team talk etc!

It would be nice if McLaren could qualify better, then the 'rutting' red bulls could take each other out behind them instead lol!

They have put the spot light on something that has always occured in F1, regardless of the 'rules', because of the way they did it, and as usual the tabloid style media coverage that is so prevalent today has kicked up into a frenzy.

Strange how the stewards only decided to look at it well after the finish line had been crossed, I do not recall seeing any graphic saying 'incident involving cars 7 & 8 to be investigated......' they had 18 laps.
