Recently it was revealed how there would be an armoured version of the X5.
Now it appears that BMW are also offering a wide range of options to the E60 5 Series and also on the forthcoming 7 Series. http://www.bmw-ids.com/security.html Intercom systems, improved wheel and tyre design, bullet proof glass (up to "Dirty Harry" .44 Magnum) are all available on the 5 Series whilst the new 7 boasts underbody protection against grenade fragments and front windscreen emergency exit. Armoured BMWs

In our special training courses, professional drivers working in
the security industry, as well as private drivers of Security
vehicles, learn to master their vehicles completely, in critical
situations and on any terrain. There are various course levels,
teaching safe handling of the vehicles and tactical knowledge,
as well as the physics of driving and the science of ballistics.
The seminars are held worldwide and under the directorship of
BMW Driver Training, whose instructors have many years of
experience in the field of Security vehicles. BMW offers
specialised winter training courses with series production
models as well.
