Hi All,

I am new to this forum and have been reading your topics, with great intrest.

I have a problem with my 1991525 I SE...sometimes on startup when turning the key there is a quite loud wizzing sound...it doesn't last long and sounds like a belt slipping or something.

A friend suggested that it could be the starter motor, but I am not so sure.

It's a M50 engine and it run's beautifully..has anyone else experienced this before

Regards

Eamonn

PS:does anyone know how I could post a pic of the car for anyone to see

Thanks Jon,

I think this is what my friend was trying to explain to me.

A new starter motor then!

Eamonn,

If i were you i'd get a 2nd hand one, it'll be LOADS cheaper.

I'd get it sorted fairly quickly as it may mash the teeth on the fly-wheel, which is bad.

Good luck mate.

To get a picture to display on the forums you need to upload it to a ftp/web server and then put a link to it in your message. I can upload it to my server if you don't have that facility and can then tell you how to link to it.

Miles,

Thanks a million.

I dont think I will need to post it every time...but so long as it is on here for others to see thats fine.

By the way..it's currently in Bensten Motors of Cambridge having a new gearbox fitted...should have it back by next tuesday.

Got a courtesy car though....a renault Clog!

Your car looks immaculate ! What colour is it ? I can't work out if its a really dark blue, grey or black.

Miles,

It's metalic laser blue with silver cloth interior...it's far from immaculate, but it is in very nice condition.

It's done 196,000 miles and it still drives like new...althought it had a top end rebuild 60,000 mls ago.

The gearbox gave up last december...and I had it rebuilt.

But it has never been right since so I have taken it back before the warranty runs out.

The biggest problem with it is the body work is starting to show signs of wear...I have a few bubbles coming through, and I think it will cost a few quid to get sorted.

Good luck

Eamonn
