Most times it behaves itself.

Sometimes it does not blow at all.

Sometimes it seems to blow fast slow fast slow like it's been turned up and down all the time.

Weird.

Car also has aircon which works ok if this helps.

Advice appreciated

I would suspect that its the heater resistor - a common fault.
See this for the repair on an E39 5er (bearing in mind that its USA so the  passenger side is on the wrong side - its on the drivers side!)

No.

Have it 2 years now.

Indicators/Lights have been like that from i got it.

Heater blower and cd are more recent.

Never really bothered getting it looked at.

But i have promised to be good to the beemer from no on and look after it properly.
