E46 Convertible Roof Motor Noisy

   My Roof in my Vert seems to be becoming noisy when its going down and up,more so when it`s going up as more strain on motor i guess.
Called dealer and they want �80 to diagnoses it lol,don't really want them to listen to it for �80 and tell me it could be this it could be that
Anyone had similar issues?
Thought about fluid,but does this need checked regularly? According to dealer it does not

Worst case new motor? (Forget the motor let`s trade it in)
