I found that the Halfrauds stuff didn't match the spec for the E39.  The E39 needed DOT 4 and Halfrauds only had DOT 5 stuff which isn't compatible with the seals etc in the 'ordinary' Beamers.  You musn't mix up the spec of the brake fluid.  The Castrol DOT 4 from Halfrauds was more expensive than the stuff from the BMW dealer.
Be exclusive and drive a Petrol 5 Series!

Buy it from a BMW Dealer!  It will be cheapest stuff you can buy and be 100% guaranteed that it will be compatible with your car.

1 litre will be sufficuient for a wee three.  I used less than 1 litre in my E39.
