Hi

The eml lamo has come on on my e46 320ci. Brought it into a mechanic who says that it looks like a faulty camshaft  sensor or cat sensor. Reckons 120 euro plus labour will sort a new sensor once he figures out which one it is. Just wondering if this stacks up and if the sensor price is in the ballpark ?

Thanks

Sounds about alright. They are known to fail regulary on these, labour should be an hour for either of them. Did the car run strange in any way?

Well that would point to the o2 sensors as the cam sensor or a coil pack fault would make the car run awful. It could well be however that the light will not come on again for some time as they do that sometimes due to the very narrow margin theese are set to.
