Gary

Being a engineer I did go back to Hypertech in Bonnybridge to make sure that I got a like for like. There  can be as much as 10 to 20 bhp between dyno readings. So after the next improvement I will go back there so that the readings are all done on the same dyno.

Air temps can affect on bhp, another tip, is blow your tyres upto 50 or 55 for rolling roads instead of 30 or 32 psi, this will give you less drag on the run down, or flywheel to the wheel power

Thanks BigSix

All this has been done, air temp was 2.5 degree above out side temp could not get it any lower. I thinking of doing the next run early morning when air is cold and dence, maybe we can have a little bit of mist.

Who are you going too for the Rolling road, I know Star Performance has got cold chillers and a mist spray for his Rollingroad, also which grade of fuel are you using, Millers octane booster gives you another 2 points to the fuel grade which will take you up to 100Ron or your rich you could visit the BP garage at south queens ferry for the 102Ron which was £2.43 a litre when I got it last year,

got luck in the next power run

Surely that's all a bit futile? Onno's after improvement - he's not trying to 'play the system' to get a false / optimised power figure; he's trying to effect a genuine improvement in output.

Bigsix

Thanks for the advice but Iam looking for real figures, so that I don,t get left standing by a souped up corsa or the like. Could go to Dastec and do a RR there and the figures will be higher. By going to the same rolling road I can measure the real improvements, this is not to say that the figures are true to the 5 HP but it sure gives me an exact reading after each improvement. See you soon.

Thanks again

Neil

Thanks for the post but nobody can tell me that by just putting in a chip you increase your engine by 25 hp. Every engine is different. There is a difference between engines build on different days. When tunning an engine through the ECU you must taken inti account.

Injector opening time and length.Airflow.timing, Also CO is very important making sure that the engine is not running to rich or worse to lean making the engine combustion running at to high a temperature with the chance of burning valve and everything wich comes with it. There for tunning on a rr is best because all the fore mentioned points are constantly monitored.

Yeah the wee lad was blowing them up to 45psi and then supposidly re-setting them.  All he did on my car was set them back down to nowhere near the correct original pressure and loose my dust caps and then told me that there were none fitted to begin with which got me annoyed because he was talking poo.

Onno

Can you let us know what the torque figures are for you car please?  I wasn't convinced at all by the torque figures on that RR for mine as it was producing in the region of 33% more torque than the manufacturers claims.

Cheers

Anderw
