I reciently bought a 92 316i . How do I know if its a E30 or E36 as both were built in 92 . Hallo all by the way .

The front lights - are they twin round (E30) or rectangular (E36) ?

Definitely prefer the older models - still think about my old E30's. Can't say I think about my old E36 the same (although it was a great car and served me well)

ditto Rhys, for me it's the face of the cars which give the car the classic look. Batmobile E9's up to E34's and in between do it for me design and appearance wise. Double headlamps with the signature classic BMW kidney grilles..unmistakably a BMW from the front view, easy to recognize anywhere.

e36 is a nice starter car. You've bitten the bug so it's BMW all the way.
