I saw a BMW advertised yesterday that looked good so rang the seller who informed me that the sevice history had been lost . He was currently in the process of getting BMW to produce a replica for him based on their records.
However rather than take his word for it I thought i'd ring BMW customer services and get details of dealer visits etc. However the number you have to call now is a £1 a minute and when I rang yesterday it took about 45 seconds before I finaly got the "ring back Monday to Friday message". So that was £1 for nothing. Most of this was made up of a dead air on the line. Why I wonder I so much want another BMW but I seem to be getting a lot of signs not to bother... Calling BMW over here is still charged as a local call. I guess its only time before that changes!

The normal customer services number still is. However for details of dealer visits and exact car specs i.e. the stuff that a potenial buyer might want to know, you have to phone a different number. I guess they must get a lot of potential buyers calling them all the time. This will certainly put quite a few off! |

I noticed this recently when I was going to check up on the 5 I bought in January. Not too impressed. Sends out the wrong message about how they view customer service.
