Guys, I need to replace the switch cluster in the centre console with one that has the heated seat switches. I can find loads with the DSC button and none with the ASC button like I need.

Does anyone know if the buttons are interchangable ?

Thanks for the possible help

Is it the switch or entire cluster?
How much from BMW?

Well I've added sports seats and they are heated. 1st of all I want to know if they work but I'll need the control buttons (probably a couple of relays and fuses aswell) so I need the whole switch cluster.

I can get my hands on loads with all the buttons etc fairly cheaply but probably too expensive to be taking a punt on. with the whole DSC / ASC thing.

I haven't been in to BMW to check to be fair, thought I'd ask the experts 1st.

Looking at Realoem, the part numbers for ASC and DSC are seperate and consecutive (items 6 & 7).  They appear to be physically similar but the part numbers for the associated plug housings are different.

I would guess that you should be able to re-use your existing ASC switch and plug.

BTW - I assume this relates to an e46 rather than your 5?  Same seems to hold true though.

Now: BMW 523i SE '00, 318i SE - e91 '07, 325i Coupe '93.

Prev:
e46 328i SE Touring, 330Ci, 318Ci.
e39 523i SE.
e36 325i Coupe *2, 323i SE, 316iSE.
e30 325iSE 2dr, 320i Conv, 320i 2dr, 316i.

Hi Dergside,

I'm actually looking for a complete panel (cat out of the bag time) with heated seat control, electric roof control and ASC for my new E46 Rag Top.

From the units I see on the "auction site" I can get loads with the DSC switch and it looks like just 1 plug at the rear of the switch cluster so I'm kind of wondering if it might just plug in and work.
