E38 99 T 728i Auto

Hello

All of a sudden my mint example of an E38 (1999 T) 728, states that the Door is Open, when none of them are, also the inside locking button on the centre consol has ceased working, although the blip locking works from outside? What is the cause and are the two linked?

All info very useful, yes all the lights are working as they should, the car locks from outside, and no Doors a re open???

I think I'll book her in with Elms in Cambridge and get them to sort her out!

Dont stand under that, but it is poss that if water has got in to alter the problem, then water may also have caused the problem. May be worth looking in the door for signs of water damage, e.g. corroded multiplugs.

Also have you now tried to re programme the blip? i take it that blip locking is now your only symptom. Try the recode as follows

1. turn key pos. 1 for less than 5 secs.

2. Remove key.

3. press and hold button for unlock

4. While unlock pressed, press lock 3 times quickly.

5. release unlock button, CDL should now lock then unlock to show accepence of the code.

6. carry out steps 3-5 for any other keys you have for the car within 1 minute.
