When the car show was on at the secc Glasgow way back(old
school) it was nice to see cars like ford,vw, all the makes
starting to have wood, leather but when i seen BMW most or
if not all the cars had wood and then you see cars like M3
its a sports car so Y the wood??i just think carbon will up
date older cars if its the right stuff not the rap, just
think M-cars No Wood lol

Have a look at other cars with the carbon and wood trim, proper carbon looks nice and so does wood though some wood is just plastic and looks tacky.
End of the day, your choice, just depends on the 'feel' you're after (wood warms a car up, carbon looks cold IMHO)

I like originality in a car.

However the European M3 GT's (LHD) had a carbon fibre centre console and the peice at the glove box also., as standard.

GIT! (Hadn't found Schiedmann site before and they have many shiny toys and Dermot must not be modded...)

I was speaking about this type of thing with Stevie before the Concours kicked off. Keep it standard mate.

And Gary, the GT OEM BMW CF trim is SUPER expensive and no-one's ever managed to do a good copy as it's a special weave with just a hint of red through it. iro 800 for the central console alone

Yip.

My brothers car above had a break in the centre console and I was thinking of buying him a new one for his 40th.

Called Pheonix BMW and at 500ish + VAT quickly hung up the phone and went for a swift shandy to get over the shock.

What other options did BMW offer when the car was new John?

Surely not wood only?

Perhaps change to another OEM type of trim.

When i bought the CSL it had additional aftermarket CF in places, i promptly removed all of it and put it back to OEM.
