It may vary on model depending on engine size? It did on the E39s as they had different racks due to different engines.

Surely this will be impacted by both road and steering wheel size? I've run both 16" and 17" alloys on my 523i and the turning circle is substantially bigger than the same car on 16's. If the turning cirlce is bigger then effect on LTL must be inverse? My current 325i has the m-tech 2 wheel while the immediate predecessor had the boat tiller wheel (4 spoke airbag wheel like the std e39 wheel). The larger diameter wheel should also take fewer turns from LTL? This might all be Friday afternoon brain fade too! |

Are you sure? The larger diameter wheel has a larger circumference so surely it means fewer turns for a given amount of lock than a wheel with a smaller circumference?
As for the road wheels, the larger wheels will foul the inner arches sooner than the smaller wheels (hence the impact on the turning circle and reduction of turns from LTL).
