e60 CD changer retrofit

   Can I just retro fit the 6CD changer in the glove box or do I need to go to the dealer for a software upgrade so that it shows up in the I-drive??

Or should I not bother and buy an Ipod interface??
I have Aux in at the rear console but no USB port.

	E61 520d, slow and buzzy but my wallet likes the mpg.....
