Well lots of you know i have not long put my car into Menzies, its at the age where i am thinking!! if i am going to keep the car do i get to all the wee bits now or later? and as its off the road for the winter i just went and put her in this year,
As time go,s by i well build up pics and stuff and do a wee report but it will be well into next year when the car will be back on the road..

Jobs are
BOTH FRUNT NEW WINGS
NEW SCREEN BOND KIT
NEW UP COVER REAR SCREEN
WINDSCREEN REP KIT
NEW WINDSCREEN
NEW BADGE AND MODEL BADGE
NEW BUMPER MNTG KIT
R AND L QUARTER GLASS SEALS

L/SIDE REPAIR PAINT PLASTIC
R/SIDE REPAIR PAINT PLASTIC
REAR BUMPER REPAIR PAINT PLASTIC
BONNET REPAIR PAINTING
L/F DOOR  R/F DOOR  L/R DOOR R/R DOOR PAINTING
REAR PANEL REPAIR PAINTING
TAILGATE AND BOTH SIDE PANEL BOTH SURFACE AND RE-SPOILER PAINTING
So all this you think is very Ouch Â£Â£Â£Â£ but i done a deal that if i was in no hurry (6-7 months) for the car and its off the road for the winter it helps cut the price way down in a big way where i know the job is going to be a good one? ( i hope ) MENZIES is now got a new showroom and its looking very nice and i have heard good things about the chap thats doing the work? so all ready cant wait till next year Shocked

It will never be perfect lol,and it never was when i had it on the road to many wee bits doing my head in LOL starting to rust on the front wings from the inside!!! we bits of rust on the back but giving time it was going to look a right mess so all thats getting cut right out.
the paint work on the front was bad and its had a paint job on one of the doors???
so hence the right time to save a good one as there is not many 4 doors left in good odder

good luck with all that work, looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

John, I said exactly the same about your M3, we all know where the points on our own cars don't match up to our expectations and I unfortunately can pick out many faults with mine

Sent it down to Royal Steering Wheels the chap was at Gaydon

And i had been sending him emails before hand, Seen how good the work was so sent my wheel down

It can take 7 working days to re-trim but he can send you one up and fit it and send your old wheel down
So its faster as long it the same wheel.

Was hoping to be back on the road for end of this month?Embarrassed I hope!!!

That's quite impressive.

Well done.

Just shows you what goes on under the side skirts.
How did you find out yours were rotting?
That must be quite a trap for water and muck, slowly eating into the metal underneath.
Bet you are glad you are getting yours seen too.

John,

Let me know when you get the car back as I'd love come over to see the finished result and get your feelings on what you think of it.

I'll be looking to do something similar with the M5 in the next year and will be looking for recommendations for someone to take on the work
