I thought it would be helpful to list the OEM parts for an E60, well my 545i anyway.  The idea being that you can see who the OEM is and go direct and get the right bit for considerably less £££ than BMW.  The info here comes from what manufacturers name is on the parts I have bought from BMW, or identified when removed from the car

Engine

Air Filter                                                      Unknown
Spark Plugs                                                NGK or Bosch
Oil Filter                                                      Hengst E203H
Oil Pressure switch                                    FEP
Pollen/Cabin filter (Activated Carbon)        Mann CUK3139
Oil                                                              Castrol Edge FST 5W-30 or 0W-30 to LL04.
Brake Fluid                                                 DOT 4

Front Brakes

Discs            Two piece unknown
Pads            Jurid
Caliper         ATE
Front Suspension

Traction Arm          Lemforder
Control Arm           Lemforder
Wheel Bearing       FAG
Track Rod              Lemforder
Track Rod End       Lemforder

Rear Brakes

Discs                       Two piece unknown
Pads                        Textar
Pad Wear Sensor    Siemens
Caliper                     ATE

Towbar

Removeable Towbar    Westfalia

Rear Parking Sensors        SWF

Although, saying that, my E60 is now old enough to qualify for Value line parts from BMW so genuine BMW parts are not as expensive as you may think and is worth checking a BMW dealer for their price.

And, as I have said on numerous occasions , build up a relationship with your dealer and you'll get better prices than VLP
