Saw on the Eastern BMW Facebook page, that they were getting in the first production i8 and were inviting everyone in to come and view it - it would be rude to refuse, wouldn't it ;)

Really impressed with the styling of it and I would like like one going on looks alone.
Unfortunately, it is a static display and there were no test drives, not even for staff Cry

It will still be on show tomorrow (7th June), then it has to go back

I took a load of photos - BMW i8 Photo Album

So.......it doesn't actually work then ?

What a stupid idea and ugly model of a car !

What are all those stupid blue bits about ? I'm guessing the kids with crayons at BMW had just watched Tron for design inspiration.

Its just crap !

Its a shame to think though that in years to come these cars will be the norm and large engined performance cars will be the thing of the past.

Indeed!  I refer to my car as a dinosaur.  No one wants a perceived uneconomical engine like the one in my E60.

It is far more 'green' to keep running around in second hand cars than force manufacturers to make new cars.  Cars produce huge amounts of CO2 to make especially if they have batteries in them as well as an engine.

By not making new cars, then there will be less pollution!  And the roads free from snotty little electric cars making more room for my car!
