A 330i uses the same diameter of brakes that my E60 had, 348mm, which is getting on for 14" which doesn't leave much scope for the caliper to go over the disc and keep the necessary diameter under 16'. On my E60 it was not possible to fit 16" rims. Realoem filtered them out of the E60 wheel rim choices. 17" are the minimum on the decent engined cars as they then have decent sized brakes to make them stop as quick as the engine makes them go!

Just bought a 330 CI and it needs winter tires. According to the wheel sizes shown on the web, it can use 16 inch wheels, and there are quite a few advertised as suitable for a 330 E90 2005.
Even BMW lists them. However, he ones that I bought will not fit over the extra large brakes that my E90 has. Can anyone tell me if there are E90s with 16 inch wheels or must they be 17 inch. I don't want to make the same mistake twice. Got a lovely set of 4 with the correct PCD and offset complete with almost unused winter tires on them if anyone has a use for them. |
