Have recently purchased a 7 series (89) BMW. Heater fan runs continuously. Removal of facia switch inside car has no effect. Removal of relay under bonnet stops fan. Relay belived to be OK. Any suggestions? Windscreen has previously leaked but now repaired.

sounds like thew sword has gone, they are expensive new however can be bought on ebay or repaired as it is the solder in the joints that tends to dry out.

I thought it was the mosfets failing short that caused the fan to run on?
