Folks, I dropped Killian a line to see if any of you would be interested in popping across the water to a track day at Knockhill and he suggested posting up here.

9/10/2004 - 4hrs - £90

Full details at http://jwestwood.demon.co.uk/bmwcc/knockhill2004.html

We've seen photos of the Scottish mob from the Caption Competitions. Would staying with them be advised?

That sounds like a great idea if we can get a convoy to go over. How do the rest of the guys feel about it. Maybe if we went over on Friday evening, and make a good weekend of it.

well we've plenty of notice, so I wouldn't mind it..

Also, Anglesey race circuit is also just across the water - we should look into doing something there too sometime...

I have to say I'm very interested, but you know yourself Duncan - we're having to chase hard to get firm commitments for our own trackday & tis only 3 1/2 weeks away! So for myself, twill be nearer September before I can commit annual leave and money to the Knockhill gig.

what's breaking my heart is that I'll be in Scotland (Dornach Castle for a wedding) on June 4th-8th and was trying to convince others to do the roadtrip thing so I could try to arrange getting in a few hrs at Knockhill or something car-related.... alas out-voted by everyone including the missus so flights and rental people-carriers it is

TJ,

Here's hoping you can make it... I appreciate it's awffy early to be asking folk to commit, but Knockhill is Scotland's only race track so they're pretty fully booked (we've been trying since July last year to get a date!) - I'm keen to get a basic indication of interest so that we can go ahead and get our depost down

Cheers,

Duncan

Fair enough K

That's 3 maybes from your neck of the woods which is good news. Just need to keep encouraging folk from closer to home to get the basic numbers signed up. Got mag articles going in the next couple of mags / Straight 6s too.

We had around 25-30 folk on track in total at Crail in 2003, so I'm pretty hopeful we'll get our 10 early birds signed up which will let you guys sign up later if circumstances permit.

Thanks Ian,

We've got 9 names now with payment on the way. One more and we've got the critical mass we need to confirm our booking.

Hopefully as the date approaches a few of you guys will be able to commit Would be great to get our two 'regions' together.

Following your successful outing to Mondello, I thought I resurrect this thread... I know it's only a month later than last time I asked but are any of you interested in / able to commit to Knockhill later this year?

Ta,

Duncan

It's too early for me yet to commit. I think you said it was in early October if I remember correctly, but someone else said September. I'm getting married abroad in September so that wouldn't suit, but October is a possibility.

Wasn't it Oscar Wilde that said....

"the only difference between sex for love and sex for money is that sex for love costs you more"?

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.
