Guys,
Don't you think your'e being a little harsh on Chris Bangle's little creation. You know it just might grow on us eventually (like moss!)
I guess the demand for a 1 series forum will depend on how many club members will be brave enough the register they have one

NO MINI is not a BMW (as such), different brand, Otherwise a Rolls Royce would be a 10 series ?

Well, I once had a Nissan Almera as a hire car in Ireland. After that, I went back to Fiat Puntos....

Ah, but the difference between MINI & a Rolls Royce is that the MINI is mass produced out of BMW part numbered bits & bobs, and then sold out of a BMW Garage.
Whereas a Rolls Royce is hand crafted from solid steel, wood, and other exotic material, lovingly created, so each one is different, and then no-one buys them because they are too expensive, and its front looks like the back of a double-decker bus!

I don't think the design of the 1 is anywhere near as radical as the new 5 series, 7 series, or 2005's 3 series. Its actually quite "normal" looking for one of Chris Bangle's creations I think! :)
It certainly looks better than the new Golf. Has anyone read the Autocar preview of the 1 series? Apparently it isn't massively practical in terms of room, but more than makes up for it in driving enjoyment.... thats what they say, anyway!

i knew I'd seen it before! What do you reckon ... some platform-sharing deal we don't know about? I hired a TDI Almera on holiday actually, it wasn't bad tbh. I think fuel for ten days cost us about £3.00.

This is about the only virtue I can think of. Also, the Almera has been advertised using none other than Lionel Blair.... wonder if he'll do the 1-Series as well....?
