Hi

I've just joined the club today as i intend to buy a BMW asap. Been a BMW fan since i was a child, but could never justify the insurance so got into Peugeots instead. I have been helping to run the countries largest Peugeot club and ran monthly Wiltshire meetings with 20+ cars.

What events and meets happen in the Wessex region, and what the profile of the region in terms of age, cars etc?

Cheers

MattB

Hi Matt

The wessex region will be posting up all new events very soon. I will be meeting with the regional group organisers this week and should get some dates for shows this year to start posting. With regards to profile of the wessex region it has all ages and a good range af BMW's, there does not seem to be a majority of any car as it is well mixed across the whole range. I have been a member now for just over a year after being into RS's for years which I still am a member of the RSOC but have decided to dedicate most of my time now to BMW Car Club. I hope you find your new BMW soon and would welcome you to the club.

Hi MattB, Welcome to our club , and to Wessex Region. You have joined at the Right time.Lots of NEW idea,s coming to-gether for this year, and YOU could just be one of the New faces, to help with this.Perhaps your good experience can be appreciated by your new BMW friends. You know your Area,s best, so would be great if you contact your chairperson, Jacqueline Garman.I think more local area events are planned, so less time spent travelling. You can get Close up to Your chosen BMW while you are waiting to be an Owner.

A Wessex committee meeting is to be held tonight, so watch this space, and also upcoming "Straight Six" newsletters and Magazines for more information about all the eexciting things that will happen this year!!

All that we ask is that the members support and participate - if you don't put anything in, please don't complain if you get nothing out !!

Once my car is sorted I will try to get to as many meets etc as I can, the ferry crossings will be the main problem unfortunately...very expensive, but I will do my best.

Goldryder, Good to hear from the Islands around the UK.I hear there are quite a few fans on the Island, why dont you form the Alcatraz section of the Wessex region?.Had someone else on the forum month ago, suggested they could organise your meet ups for skill contest, karting competition, show n shine, scatter Rally, Dealer visit (snows) all this on the island to save those fares.Have a chat with Snows parts Dept, put up a notice "Calling all BMW enthuiasts" to a pub meet & Lunch perhaps. You have a great new team looking after members in Wessex Region, they also visit IOW from time to time, perhaps in the future an Island Fest.

B 7...

Having never been involved with owners clubs before, I wouldn't know where to start, but with help from people over here, I guess I could give it a go once my car is back on the road and all sorted....

I am willing to learn...just need someone to guide me thru the maze of what has to be done, how and when...
