Hello all ,and yes i am a bmw lover.

Good pints were the luxury, the leathers it all seemed so beatiful,,UNTIL imy thirst for power and speed arrived, and annyone thats driven one will know that the 318 ci doesnt move!!!!!

So a year on and ive done a little saving and i would love to buy a 330ci,but unfortunately i dont have that money,BUT,i do have enuff for a 328ci 2000 reg.

What i want to know is,will i fell a considerable difference in this compared to the 318.I need to feel power and speed under my foot thats 80% of driving for me??

Any help would be great from one or all of you knwledgable peeps

Should be about 50% up.
If you want real power, then try a 1989 E30 M3 - or an M5
Just watch that you can hadle it though - its a big step from a 318i and you don't want to be going round the bends sideways. As to speed, in this country, all you can do is get to the limit faster. Even a 318i will do over a ton.

You will notice a big difference between a 318 and a 328. The 318 has a fairly average 118bhp, will do 0 -60 in about 10 seconds and top out at 124mph. The 328 has 193 bhp, will do 0-60 in about 7 seconds and top out at 147mph. Take one for a test drive and see for yourself. Before you go and get your hopes up however get an insurance quote first as a 328 will be quite a bit more to insure.

Its the low down pulling power you'll first notice, then the small amount of revs to move swiftly!!

Get a 328 then derestrict it, and be very close to 330 performance!!

I have a 328i sport. I love it, its really is cracking! Its got V smooth acceleration and it does 0-60 in around 6.5 secs.
I used to have a golf vr6 (2.8) and there isnt much difference but the 328 has more pull in the lower revs. Might have something to do with the fuel as i started to use Optimax.

Good luck with the search!

You can get the new m5's now for around 20k, Now that would be a healthy power increase

Sorry but I prefer the E34 M5's over the E39 M5's, personally I have gone off cars with traction control even if it can be switched off. The E39 is a great car but just not for me.

The E39 is growing on me, but its still all girly and curvy

The E34, now theres a mans car !!

LOL

I'm not biased of course.

Best Wishes

Nigel
