Would it not be the same as the 525 with M-tech ? Part number BDK768 or BDK769.

I would have thought so, but I'm not sure. I'm aware that there are 3 different part nos. for E34 shocks (P36-3018, P36-3019 & P36-3020), according to Turner Motorsport, hence my doubt! These part nos. depend on dust cap and retaining nut diameter. And judging from the number of posts saying that they had to return parts, I'm guessing that (knowing my luck) I'd get through a few before getting the one that fits!
But, I'll give Motorsportworld a tinkle and see what occurs. Youj ust never know...

Thanks. I've just had a look on their web site (I really should be working, but there you go!) and, as seems to be increasingly the case, there isn't a kit listed for the E34 535 - let alone with "Sports"/M-Tech suspension!! I've e-mailed them, so we'll see... |
i bought some spax psx damping adjustables from motorsportworld today.
part No. SPX-TAP482 (For non sport application)
if you look at the spax options, there is 535 sport and std applications.
at least i hope so since ive ordered them already.

Let us know how you get on. I'd be interested to hear your verdict. Did you find out whether your 535 had the "Sport" option?

The following is from a Bilstein Distributor in the US :
There are 3 different strut types used on the E34 using 3 different mounting types. Before ordering new Bilstein struts and shocks, you must measure the dust cap on the top of the front strut bearing. One type of dust cap has a diameter of 1 1/8", while the other two have a diameter of 2 ˝”. If you have a 2 ˝” dust cap, remove the cap and measure the top nut. One is a 19mm nut and the other is a 22mm nut.
For the 1 1/8" dust cap the Bilstein part numbers are:
HD: N/A
SPORT: P36-3020
For 2 ˝” dust cap with 19mm nut:
HD: P36-3021
SPORT: P36-3018
For 2 ˝” dust cap with 22mm nut:
HD: P36-3022
SPORT: P36-3019
--------------------------------
I would also recommend changing all of the rubber spring pads whilst replacing the shocks and springs.

I've just had a look at the Spax fitment guide (see Miles' earlier post) and couldn't see the SPX(?PSX?)-TAP482. But, it might not be complete/up to date!
