Im looking for a lowered suspension kit for my 535i sport. Mine has the m-tech suspension as standard but i want to lower it with a full kit using shocks and springs. Where can i get a decent kit from as no-one seems to list one for the 535i sport ?

I read an article in one of the bmw mags this month about spax being as good if not better in some parts to the german counterparts (bilstein, eibach etc) and that they do make for most cars, old and new, might be worth giving them a ring and see what they can offer?

I fitted a spax suspension kit to a Ford Sierra I used to own and it was excellent. Much better than the standard set up, practically no body roll and the ride wasn't to bad either. Used to make my Autochanger skip mind on very bumpy roads. I was reasonably cheap as well. I got mine for £220 although it was on offer at the time. Normal retail price was £300.

Thanks for looking for me mate. Ive just had 2 quotes on suspension kits one is G-MAX 35mm lowered £235 the other is System 2 30mm lowered £299. Any idea what these kits are like? The G-MAX kit seems like a good price. These quotes were from a company called Proven-Products.

If your m-tech kit isn't too bad, maybe you could sell it...

Ive just tried to order the G-MAX kit for my 535i sport and have been told that no suspension kit fits my car because it has M-TECH suspension, its different to all other e34's. Apparently only bilstein fit and that is 499.99. I dont want to pay that much really !!

According to the article SPAX have turned over their entire business in the last couple of years and as such have gained a very good status and are one of the top manufacturers in R&D for innovative ideas and using high quality materials. They have always been good for certain application but now they are good for nearly all possible scenarios you could ever need to put the shocks through. They also do a custom service so if they do not have something you need they can make them. Give them a ring and tell em the situation with your car having the m-tech suspension im sure they can sort something out.

This company was extremley helpful and id recommend them to anyone. There site is www.proven-products.co.uk

Let us know how you get on with the kit as i think there are a few other people that would be interested if it fits the sport models.

i had the mtech kit on mine and lots of people told me this wont fit and that wont fit, later i found out that the m tech has all the same fixings etc but is just stiffer n lower than std.. so when they claime lowers by 40mm it may only lower by 25 or 30mm because its allready lowerd a bit dnt know if its true or not? but then i wrote it off,got another one with std and bought a set of jamex springs on e bay for it when i got em they were a diferent size, the rears were right but the fronts were much shorter and of a larger diameter so i sent them back only to get another unopend box of jamex springs marked e34 and again the same sizes,so i complained and they sent me a set of h and r they were spot on,handles a treat now.. they never asked for the origanal set back so god knows what they fit ...but i stil got em(maybee the mtechs are a diferent size?

The front top spring mounts seems to be smaller on the M-tech equipped cars as the springs i bought from GSF do not seem to locate properly (but i haven't had any major problems so far)

535i Sport when was your car built ? as my car was built in August 1991 and seems to have the smaller top mounts ? I would be very interested to hear if the kit fits your car.

Thanks
