I found that R.A.W Spares in Croydon were great when I urgently needed a replacement lambda sensor and a pair of working headlight adjusters fitted to my E34 to get it through the last MOT, much cheaper per hour than a main dealer and they have a huge stock of BM spares!

B&M Care in Pudsey, Leeds - as good as a dealer, twice as
trustworthy, half the price. Genuine parts (naturally) and BMW-trained
technicians.

Williams of Rochdale - very good main dealer.

No M5 courtesy car! But Williams will collect your car and deliver it back
to you when it is ready, and B&M Care offers Corsas for a fiver a day.

Munich Leg ends have always looked after my cars in a professional if not slightly eccentric way.... loved the E28 M5 courtesy car

For great service and good prices in the North West try Baymow in Stockport 0161 456 1114.

These guys specialise in BMW's of all kinds and you get a discount on presentation of your club card.

Garages like this are now few and far between.

Priory BMW in Wallsend, Newcastle have an excellent sales and service team.

I bought an E36 in 1996 from "Richard" at Priory and, not having been back for eight years, I went in to look at an E46.  I bumped into Richard in the car park and he remembered both my and my wifes names and our old private plate registration!  Of course, I bought the car!

The E36 once went back for a cracked rear lens (just two weeks after I bought it) and they replaced it free while I waited!  The E46 had a tiny rattle at the top of the rev range (my wife couldn't even hear it) but Priory sorted it in minutes under warranty.

Tip Top.

I would recommend the garage below for the central belt of Scotland.

We have even managed to negotiate a 15-20% discount for club members on servicing and mechanical repairs

I have got to recommend Damon Hill Warwick, took my M3 in for an engine noise, well I knew it was the dreaded Vanos, they put a claim into BMW and got 100% parts paid for, very helpful, telephoned me when they said they would.  Car was returned completely valeted 10 out of 10

If we are talking about main dealers for service then Lind of Norwich servicing and parts departments are very helpful and offer a great care orientated service. Prices have been surprisingly good for what you are getting.

regarding local garages and specialists then i would recommend bells marsh road garage in gorleston (near gt yarmouth) as a very competent garage who between the father and son team know a hell of a lot about cars and more so about performance ones. Very competitively priced for the area and even throw in little jobs free (on different occasions).

Regarding service provided for parts bought from non main dealers then Motormec has to get a big mention as they are mad about BMW's and offer a good quick and reliable service for anything they cover and also willing to put themselves out to find out more information about parts they dont currently offer.

Munich Legends - very nice helpful chaps and know their stuff inside out PENDING UPDATE!

Ocean BMW in plymouth - sales are well, sales, but parts & service top notch!

Cooper tunbridge wells - very good parts dept, helpful and quick.

I would like to second that comment. Teesside Autotech look after my car and are always helpful, whether they are doing the work themselves or just advising me.

Rydale Central in Birmingham has a good spares department.

They are helpful and don't mind spending time with the customer to ensure ordering the correct item.

Rydale Sutton Coldfield has a different approach to spares and you have difficulty finding anyone to talk to who is interested in what you want to order.

In my opinion Rydale Sutton is a bit more upper class and get caught out by owners with grubby hands putting dirty parts down on their service desk !!
