Anyone with these notice that some part numbers are missing?.  I am considering changing my water pump/thermostat and thought some part numbers would help when getting part quotes from the dealer, but I don't see any part numbers listed for the key items, just for gaskets and nuts etc.  Is it just my copy of the ETK that is lacking or do the many other copies out there suffer the same thing?.

I think the part numbers may be on a previous version.
So if you install the 2003 version but havn't had say the 2000,2001 versions the part numbers are missing

Hope that makes sence

I think the TIS and ETK are crap.

does this mean that if you manage to get a new ETK from ebay or wherever, you need loads of others to be sure you have all parts?
Surely they are backward compatible, i.e. new ones contain all info up to the publishing date.

Sounds like the ETK set-up is not correct, some parts have more than 1 part number, ie handed, colour etc. You need to click on the part number in the graphic window, or double click on the item number in the parts list.

Or go into the 'parts search' and click on 'default values' then check the 'show image number detailed' button. This will then by default show all the available part numbers for each item

I dont know if all the info is on the new ones????
I was just guessing. My ETK has part numbers missing and I assumed it was because i didnt have previous versions installed

Thanks all, Mark R's suggestion did the trick, but now I have two different numbers for the water pump and another two for the thermostat.  The specs on both thermostats i.e temp rating and year range applicable are also the same, so I still don't know what part number to get.

I tried entering my VIN, but I still got multiple part numbers for the same item.  From what I have seen so far I am not too impressed by the program.

OK, if you have multiple numbers for any part number and there is a 'E' in the 'AT' column then it means that part has been superceded. Choose the part number with out the E in the column.

What series is your 5, E34/E39? If you don't mind sending me your VIN number i can look it up for you and see what's going on, either PM me or post it here.

The ETK is the mutts nuts when you get the hang of it! i'm not too sure about the TIS though...

Its a 1995 E34 520i manual, I will have another look and see if I can figure out the "E" thing.
