Hello gang,
Any idea what BMW charge for a set of 4 18' M Paralells to fit an E39? Cheers, Robbie. |

I think a set of 18" rims with tyres are around €2800.

You could always get replica's for a third of the price. Does anyone know is there much difference quality wise between originals and replica BMW wheels, or are you really paying for the badge.

As far as I know the replicas are much heavier wheels and usually dont come in the same size as the originals. For example the M-tech alloys are wider at the rear but replicas are the same all round...most of the time.

There is probably a difference in the quality of the finish on the wheels also. I noticed a big difference in the quality of the finish on my original BBS x-spokes vs other aftermarket alloys I have had before, much superior.

Just a thought, if you go the BMW website (bmw.ie), you can choose a sample new car and then select various options including the different alloy wheels available and it will show the price associated with each set. Should give a good idea on prices.

Not sure about the M Parallels, but the System I & System II's as fitted to E34's are a much lighter forged (aluminum - i think) wheel and are daftly priced

Wow!
EU 2,800 is pricey, although the tyres fitted would be top spec and this is probably adding 650-750 to the overall cost. Descisions descisions!! Thanks again, Robbie. |
