South West Concours and summer meet Athelhampton 20th June 2004.

Yes its time to start polishing that BMW ready for the above. There will be plenty of Trophies to be won, and dont say your cars is not good enough, "you have got to be in it to win it"
Main sponsor is Tice BMW Dealers from Dorchester, they will have FI merchandice on sale and cars to test. Also on hand The Polishing Company. BMW books and brochures, plus the I.A.M stand have your driving skills tested. The Dent Devil will be there to miraculous things to any little dings on cars!

Great place to visit very nice surroundings. Gates open at 09.00 judging starts at 10.30 entrants will have at least an hour to prepare. Concours entries to close at 12.00, latecomers may enter the peoples choice concours. Results at 15.30. Entrance fee at the gate £3.50 each.

Remember you do not have to enter the concours you can just come to see all the cars etc. We hope to see a lot of you there. I hope there is a lot of you out there the last post was mine on the 7th May. where have you all been,??

Well thats three of us going to Athelhampton. I am expecting to much for everybody to reply? Perhaps there is a lot of people not on the forum going. It does get a bit loanly up at the sharp end sometimes. But in the end all you guys turn, like you did at Hestercombe. So come lets see a big show of hands and back the SW committee at the SW concours. See you all there?

Mike

Not sure about the peoples choice concours, I think you are right. The same as show and shine. The rules of concours have also been relaxed. Not so much checking of the suspension etc. Make sure you come and have a chat Mike!

I'm definitely going as it's my local event.

Assuming I get it back from Le Mans OK I'll take the M6.

If there is an informal class for cars like mine that are used regularly then I would enter. If not I'll be a spectator! Having seen Ross's M6 at Hestercombe, my car would come nowhere in a true concours, despite being in exceptional condition for a 19 year old car. I'll call David Leake and find out what's happening on the day as he may want to display all the coupes together.

Having never been to this event before I don't know what to expect. I have noticed that it clashes with a sharknose gathering so perhaps there won't be many old coupes there!
