I would suggest you ask the club office if there are any places available and if there are when/how can you pay.
Unless your exhaust has had the silencers removed I would think you would be fine. What SS system do you have? The helmet you refer to has SA2000 accreditation which I would expect will be fine. My documents arrived this morning and we are asked to be at the circuit between 7:30 - 8:30 whith signing on available upto 8:45. Hope this helps |

Kevin,
I won't know untill thursday/friday whether I will have my car back before next week. Can I pay on the day? or at earliest friday? Also is a Simpson Bandit helmet okay? as they are not ACU but are well acredited by different standards. Also Also, my car has a SS pipe which is a touch noisier than standard but do not know how many db's. Is the noise measurement taken on the start/finish? if so is it possible to coast past? and how load is 98db anyway? Sorry loads of rambling questions but is stuff I need to know. Cheers, Phil |

Kev, I was so chuffed with the article. The anticipation of not knowing what they were gonna say, "more roll than a burger van" type stuff was painful. It was also amazing to go around in the ACS Z3 which is well sorted and I'm gutted it's new owner, Bryn can't make the trip. Camera not in attendance this time and I've a new set of tyres to look after too. Still, I found the pipe from the hairdryer wasn't correctly connected after Croft (at Gaydon) so it's a flying machine again now See you there. |

Booked on to this one (eventually) and looking forward to it. Had a ride round in an Exige in June and until then I had no idea of the size of the drop down craner or the rise back up under Scwantz, in spite of many days spent watching. Just need some decent weather now (or pi$$ing rain if I want to show Giles in his new CSL (on pilot cups) the way round). |

miodem.com or phooto.co.uk are OK, but all the pictures are moving to phooto. I have links to the new site, so there should not be too much confusion. Simon Edited by SimonTay |

The left hander before the old hairpin. Calum was a passenger in my CSL when it happened (twice). The suspension is being uprated to rid the car of the bush un-wind effect that causes it. Quite scary if you're not expecting it!! New KW stuff will be on in time to try it out on the 27th. |

Looking at the Donington Park Website it would appear there are two noise standards.
The "standard" which is upto 98dba drive by and the "premium" over 98dba drive by. I suspect the 27th Sept will be a "standard" day as this costs less. |

Is there a noise limit that day, and if so what is it? I look forward to coming along. Forms in the post.
Who are the instructors?... and can they cope with a CSL snapping sideways at 120 mph in the second craner without freaking (Like Calum Lockie did!) |

Simon, I have used your old address, www.miodem.com, in the
article about Croft for the BMW CC magazine. Does this need to be changed or will miodem continue to work for a while? I don't know the publication date, although Nick might. Regards to all (hi Barf), Tim |

nick, have to agree with you. the car isnt a m3 but is a 328..with many mods to enhance the ride /handlind and braking. since croft 04, i've taken the opportunity to modify the car further, not with the intention of trying to out-perform other cars, but to make life easier for the car with more suited components (a bilstein pss9 suspension kit and some modified brakes). my driving abilities will slowly improve, but with a car which is more capable when driven on track. i'm not really looking for a m3 eater, just something which is quick, reliable, fun and above all SAFE! ive taken on board your comments and will learn from them (especially the cadwell park bit...ouch that must've hurt) as the last thing that i want is to over do it to the point where the cars being dragged out of the armco with a tractor! i am still very much a novice with 4 bdd outings under my belt and look forward to donington bdd with a new approach from my last outings, and try to build up the speed/pace with more expert tuition from people like chris rossiter! i'll take that baby home in one peice, with a little smile on my face knowing that ive learnt something new and had a great day out. lookind forward to croft05 already! Best regards Barf

Yes.. I'm laughing as well! ..seriously though, a word of warning.. take it from me.. I learned the hard way.. My old Hartge 325 was so 'trick' I thought I could show any E30 M3 the way round Cadwell Park.. the trouble was that I was always on the limit, when at the same pace the M3 still had a little up it's sleeve. One day I pushed a little too hard trying to get that little extra down the old start finish.. unfortunately for me 'Barn' is an unforgiving son of a bitch and with too much opposite lock I kissed the armco and flipped the car. Don't let the mods fool you into thinking you have a M3 eater.. it's still a 328.. a very quick little 328 now, but still a 328. Not that that's a bad thing, far from it.. just remember to respect your machine and she'll bring you home every time. Nick Croft'05 |
