I have a button with a red light on it just below the stereo - but all it seems to do is isolate the electric windows - I've no idea why!

...because that's what it's for! If you had an earlier model, then the same switch would have been positioned to the left and below the steering column....

For this, you need to speak to the technical boffins who worked on the E24 when it was in production. Errm, if you can find them....

According to my nearest and dearest there is a pedal on the right that, when depressed, isolates my brain...

Upload the pic to a photo hosting service like Wanadoo or e46fanatics.com, then provide a link here on the Forum to the pic.

johne is correct, the button in question is to isolate the electric windows,
according to my hand book (i should probably read it instead of clogging up the forum eh?!?!) its incase you leave children in the car, it stops them from playing with them and injuring themselves,
awww, how caring ![](smileys/a_smil17.gif)

You can now see why I'm resolutely single and unattached. I'm happy with my old car and my horse.
