I am shortly to take delivery of a new X5. The dealership has arranged for the windows to be tinted with a protective plastic. They are now unable to do so, due to one of their customers being stopped by the police for having driver and passenger windows tinted. Apparantly this is illegal! Can anybody shed some light on the subject! |

There are differing levels of tint allowed. I think it goes something like : 1) No tint whatsoever on the windscreen. 2) Up to xx% tint on the driver/passenger windows. 3) Up to 100% tint on the rear passenger windows and rear windscreen. Check http://www.pentagonglasstech.com/ for examples of legal tints and check with your local traffic police who should be able to point you to the exact regulation(s). |
