Don't know why that didn't work try this (mines the silver one) http://uk.f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/suzannesavage@btinternet.com/detail?.dir=/99ae&.dnm=88fb.jpg Hope this works Cheers Ps my ecu number matches yours. Would you be interested in selling me a copy of the chip Miles I will try to figure out how to post pics better tomorrow. Not used to geocities. Had my own website before on netscapeonline that is now non-existant and never bothered trying to upload it again. I will set it up again soon when I get the time and put lots of my car pics on it. Yes i have fitted it and yes there is a big improvement in low down power and it has smoothed out the power delivery across the rev range

Just quickly tried to have a look but unfortunately I couldn't loosen the final screw Will have a look over the weekend after I've bought a proper screwdriver. Have you fitted yours yet ? If so, was there any noticeable difference ? Cheers, Talat

I think the only way to find out is to have a look, you just need to remove the 4 screws from the E-Box cover (under the bonnet on the drivers side near the windscreen) and you will be able to see the Bosch label on the ECU/DME.

Hello, Another person here who's recently acquired a E34 525i Sport . Saw the silver one above on ebay and was about to arrange a viewing until a black one appeared on ebay a day later which was closer to home - me being a lazy git decided to view that one first and bought it on the spot. It's identical to the one above except it's black with a black leather interior. Gonna give it a full service in a couple of weeks and get the steering box adjusted. Need to source some 17" alloys now, saw some nice Hartge's on ebay.de but unfortunately he wasn't willing to ship to the UK Miles, where did you get you performance chip from ? Cheers, Talat.

Welcome to the forums Andrew....
I have seen loads of E34's with rust around the petrol cap, I think there is a drain hole behind the petrol filler flap that gets blocked preventing any rainwater from draining away. The best way to find a good body shop is too ask all your friends, neighbours etc who they have used and if they would recommend anybody. You can't go wrong with the Bilstein Sport suspension kit although the ride is a little firmer than standard. If your car uses the Bosch 0 261 200 405 ECU i can burn you a copy of the performance chip i am using. Lets see some pics......... Miles Edited by e34m5 |

Nice car, I spent over 6 months looking for a Sport here in Northern Ireland and ended up with a '92 Sport (looks the same as miles) FBMSH no signs of repairs 120000 miles, Sport cloth seats, spoilers etc. Looks beautiful when its cleaned up, I love it. Now the down side, I have rust round my petrol cap, on the sill at the passenger door and its starting to appear in other areas, wheel arches etc. On close inspection I'm sure the car has never been painted. The shocks in the front are completely gone So my wish list includes Bilstein suspension kit, mod chip, good quality wheels & some way of getting rid of the rust .. Scared of someone making a mess. The car is a beauty to drive, sounds great, my wife and I are proud of it. I spend hours reading various forums and look foreward to sharing some pics in the future. Cheers Andrew |

It looks very nice indeed. Glad you got what you wanted in the end, although mine isnt the sport, just the standard 525i SE it doesnt look too different, interior excepted. If your going to use main dealers for parts, I'd advise you join the club first and enjoy what discounts you can get. Another dam good buy would be the bentley manual, I've found it to be invaluable, club book man is John Drake 01590 645623, http://www.johnsmodelcars.co.uk Again a 10% discount to club members, I think mine was about £50 delivered to my door, the haynes one for our cars is just about useless to be honest. |

Best Wishes
