I am thinking about getting a new back box for my car either the ac schnitzer or the Eisenmann with the sound pipe. I have listened to the Eisenmann on an E46 330ci and it sounds the business and the only car I have heard the acs on is an M3, has anybody heard either of these exhausts and what are their opinions. I will definately purchase one of these in the next week as I can get free delivery from the UK for the Eisenmann system. I have heard the Eisenmann on www. e46 fanatics.com and it belonged to a uk car belonged to peppernick. Your views would be much appreciated |

From my limited knowledge, I'd expect the ATS quality to be higher. Try posting on the 3-Series forum to get a wider audience...

I'd imagine the acs would be better but hard to know without fitting them first. I've heard the Eisenmann on the e46 and it sounds good though.

I think 'ac schnitzer' zaursts are made by Remus, so you're probably better off getting the remus for a fraction of the price [ www.remus-racing.com ] , having said that I must admit to being very tempted by what www.uucmotorwerks.com had on offer back when I had a 328i.. don't suppose kelleners have a box for the 330i ? very loud & rorty especially on the M5..

I had a AC Schnizer back box on a E-30 325is tis also includedd a AC Schnitzer brach manifold, the engine ran a little cooler due to better gas flow. In any case it sounded the business, if not a little loud, it is inclined to draw the attention of the guards (thats the reason I got stopped, or so I say!!). The only worry I have is compliance with regulations when you go for test.
I am currenlty thinking of fitting Hartge bits including back box to my E46 330ci |

IanH What does the Hartge sound like and how much does it cost, I can get the Eisenmann plus the sound pipe for 448 sterling ex Vat and including delivery to Ireland. Is the Acs stainless steel or just the same as the Remus and I have heard that the Acs/Remus have corrosion probs |

I have not seen one fitted to the and E46. Hartge are know to be a little bit more "hard core" that say Alpina.
The ACS back box was stainless steel in the classic ACS style of two pipes surrouned by outer band. Price for the Hartge back box is 488.00 sterling + vat AT the time I had the ACS bits fitted there was a E30 being refitted with a full on 3.5 liter Hartge kit. I wish I took pictures of it at the time. |

I'll be leaving it at M&G tomorrow to make sure that everything I need is ordered and will probably get the pipes welded to the back box before I get the rest clamped to the original exhaust section. E46 section |

Yipee it's on and I can't stop one of my best mods to date and it only sounds agressive when I floor the accelerator and when you slow down it burbles loveely, might have to add an ACS section onto the rear bumper just to finish it off now. E46 Section |

Your right Richie it looks good I have to price the bumper and compare it against the price of the ACS rear add on and then check the bank balance after it takes out a years road tax(stealth tax for fat County council officials) Edited by kbannon |
