I've just been out for a test drive in the new 1, and it's a cracker. Just begging for a bit more power, I suspect, the chassis is *way* ahead of any of the engines they've put in there so far.

ANYWAY: it's probably going to need a forum, isn't it?
Ciao,
Spokey

I wouldn't have a problem with that either, it's a good enough car to be considered a BMW. But the he11 with what the fleet guys or reps think, just take one for a drive and see if you're not convinced...

I wasn't expecting to be that impressed, but I was blown away by it. I jumped in it and was immediately chucking it around like my Z1. It's a brilliant, brilliant drive.

Na... it was a decree from BMW GB. Some branding issues...

Where is the BMW badge on a MINI? Next people will want a Rolls Royce forum and then a Rover forum and then...

I doubt it. It's hardly likely to be a cost efficient car to run, at least not compared to cars like the vectra, especially considering the huge discount fleet buyers get from companys like vauxhall. Also a lot of campanies these days don't want their reps driving cars like BMWs. It isn't supposed to be good for sales if your rep turns up to see a customer and he has a flash BMW. Doesn't create the right impression. Big Smile

Good idea for a new forum though!

It doesn't seem to bother my company or our customers - 75% of our company cars have always been BMW's - the MD used to have an M5, now he has a 635 ci !

You obviously work for a generous company. 75% of the cars ar BMWs!! that must cost the company a fortune!!!

Getting rid of expensive company cars is one of the new ways of reducing fixed costs.
