tailgate window problem.......

   got a bit of a problem opening the rear tailgate window on my E34 530 touring..the tailgate lock works...all the other locks work perfectly and this one worked until recently....thing is the missis wants me to pick up a carpet tomorrow and i was gonna have  it poking out the back.....any help would be appreciated....jasper
