Rhys..when you get past the big 40, you will no doubt find that everything, including the memory, goes either south or sideways....

We women mature quicker but you blokes just fall to bits as soon as you realise that you can't kick that darn football as far as you did when you were a teenager....or remember its the wife/girlfriend's birthday....or when your kids show you up by having more knowledge about computers than you do - such as how to turn the flaming thing on

Niggles, there are two things you must remember when you get older,

number one.

   ...your memory starts to go.

Killian

I noticed when the forum was down, the main website was still up, and from what I've seen this is normally the case.

Why's that ?

Best Wishes

Nigel

There has been a lot of windage around Yorkshire just lately, weather reports tell of a beery sweetcorn smell..
Nothing to do with me though..

reports just come in say similar occurances repeating around the west midlands area (a bit)..

That'll teach them to play with Ivan.....

Think it might still be experiencing difficulties, cos its running a tiny bit slower than normal, but not to worry....Ivan will soon blow off elsewhere...we hope...

Just in case you were wondering what happened last night/this morning, I recieved this from www.bmwcarclubforum.co.uk's webhost:-
As many of you have already found out, Our primary data center in Atlanta, Georgia experienced a 12 hour outage beginning  at approximately 5:45 p.m. on Thursday September 16(Eastern standard time).  The service was recovered at approximately 4:30 A.M. on Friday September 17th.  The cause of the outage is due to massive power outages in Georgia and most of the south Eastern united states caused by the hurricane making landfall.  As many of you know we maintain the highest level of uptime here through redundant backbones, connections and backup power.  We have been operated and continue to operate on backup power and the cause of our outage is due to large portions of SBC's fiber optic infrastructure being without power.  Because of the extensive damage of the storm in the Atlanta area(310,000 people without power),  this caused problems for our fiber optic providers not being able to carry the signal all the way back to us.  At this time service has been fully restored.  We appreciate your support during this time.
<snip>
Thank you once again and we apologize for the outage.
