Perhaps this is a common fault with the E36 as mine has suffered from a faulty actuator on two occasions.  First the left hand rear door and a few weeks later the right hand rear door.  My dealer replaced them both under warranty.

Could just be as simple as needing the dealer (or specialist) to re-sync the locks, other than that it could be an actuator that has gone U/S

one of the rear doors on my girlfriends E36 isn't loocking or unlooking anymore. Just a minor fault like bad connection or is the unit faulty and needs replacement? Any suggestions?

TIA

Uwe
