Hi,

I've got a 95 840 CI that I've owned for 2 years now and thoroughly enjoy.

Can anyone recommend which tyres are the best to fit the 235/50 R 16 size?

Also, I think I'm going to need new back boxes on the exhaust soon and these are pretty expensive, can anyone suggest a sports system that won't break the bank? I've found a system from Larini that is stainless steel and adds 7bhp. It costs about £800 for the cat to the back. Ever heard of it?

Finally, just recently the car is a bit lumpy at tick over, is this likely to be an engine mount or something more serious and how can I check?

Cheers.

Steve

Hi Steve, P6000s are OK for 235/50R16 (but you might consider selling them and putting on some Eibach Springs and the 17" throwing star rims for the E31 looks much nicer  !)

I replaced by back boxes not long after getting mine (rusted), I tried some custom ones but had to rip them off, they sent the cabin into resonance and the noise became too annoying, ended up fitting the OEM ones.  Haven't heard of the Larini ones but I can tell you if the exhaust back pressure isn't right between the centre resonator chamber and the exhausts on the E31 it will annoy the hell out of you.

Have you had the engine carbon cleaned lately?

Regards Ian
