We are now coming towards the Christmas and New Year season.

Office parties, having friends round for drinks and going out to the pub starts now.

This morning a stark reminder of what can happen was quite horrific.  A motorcyclist on a very large machine hit a pedestrian at relatively high speed over here today.  The result was fatal.

Whether drinking was involved or not, makes no odds.  Families and friends have lost loved ones and its always worse at this time of the year.

I am not saying anyone on here is stupid and drinks and drives.  Just be very careful.  Don't become another statistic.

Only yesteday did my neighbour have an accident with 2 motorbikes. One tried to undercut the other on a roundabout, with the result one of the bikes went down the side of his car (fortunately, the only damage was a scuffed wheel and a displaced trim on his E46)

Both bikers were ok..

Apparently the pedestrian was crossing without using the pelican crossing, the bike was travelling at about 60mph.  The pedestrian was killed instantly, the rider was critically injured after his machine slammed into the metal railings on the central reservation...60mph impact speed equates to him and his machine becoming 60 tonnes force.

The accident happened at 0845 this morning, the road is still partially closed now and was totally closed for over 6 hours.
