A strange noise.. hmmm

   had the same on my old  323i  and webdunk is right BMW looked into it and said it was the heating valve .
Nothing to worry about they said

	Hi! It sounds like your description fits perfectly. I couldnt see anything when I looked under the bonnet - but I think I will take your word for it. Lots of people notice it when sitting in my car - they think something is wrong! I can live with it I guess

	I don't think this is what you've got... but just in case. On my 328i coupe, there is a regular click/clunk from the dash/engine bay. I traced this to what I am told is a valve for the heating system! Nothing to worry about.. perfectly normal. If your noise is regular, pop the bonnet and at the top right, there is a wee doohicky which is happily doing it's job clunking away. Let us know what it turns out to be?

	Hello folks, I noticed something a few weeks back in my E36 323i Coupe. While the key is in position 2 (either when the engine is running or when the lights on the dash come on if the engine is off) there is a strange couple of clicking noises that seem to come from under the centre console (roughly where the transmission selector lever is positioned). At first I thought it was the climate control but even after turning this off i still hear it. Does anyone have a similar sound?
