Hi there I am about to pick up a "W" reg 635 and I was wondering what fuel should I be using, real proper leaded?, LRP?, standard or premium unleaded? - don't worry I wont try using diesel :) Cheers Growl |

Well, from what I read on here and else where, the opinion seems to be.... (1) Leaded Petrol best if you can get it, but not essential (2) "Super" unleaded next best option (eg Optimax or BP Ultimate) and shouldn't hurt car. (3) The various additives (Redex, etc, etc) may or may not be snake oil. I run my 86 635 on Optimax or similar, seems perfectly ok to me. I do notice the difference over "cooking" unleaded it must be said. Take a look at the spark plugs thread, I think there was a reply somewhere in there that touched on suitability of different plugs for different fuel types. |

will be fine with any form of unleaded. I use optimax in my six purely due to the higher octane level which is closer to 4 star.
