them links dont apply to my car, it seems i dont have any batterys.......the circuit board is factory clamped to the blue outer shell.

the SI lights are green (two of them) and the economy/temp are working, so maybe i just need a reset <i tried using a paper clip but didnt seem to work>

anyway i have the cluster back in again, and not going to take it out,too much hassle!

I couldn't get the 'paper clip' aka '6" of copper wire' reset to work on my E36. It works on my E30 and my E36 was reset when I had it serviced so I suspect the £15 reset tool is the next most economical way of doing it!
Cheers, Neil

I think your talking about something in a completely different league to SI lights. It sound like you've got some problems but surely your car isn't that old if it's M43 engine? I'd seek advice from a local BMW garage if you can't find it on here.
