I dont wish to walk into the Irish/English Law minefields--BUT-perhaps this www.pepipoo.com if you dont know of it, may give you some idea,s for FIGHTING every alleged offence notification you receive. The English Authorities are reluctant to believe that any driver has ANY rights, and should accept ANY Command given, and pay by return of post.Future plans include YOU setting up Standing Order payments with your Bank, so extraction can be simple for you. European Court for Human Right,s contact details, should be close at hand for your reference, and some items from the charter are worth learning, for advising said Authorities.Let the Battle,s begin

I haven't been outside of Dublin since the new signs came in but I have noticed a lack of them around Dublin. I guess I have been on the lookout for any revised speed limits but the signs just aren't there! I have heard of a road out towards Ratoath where the signs show different speed limits on each side of the road! I just wonder what happens when you're overtaking! Edited by Graham G |

This is because speed is limited by the traffic jams anyway.... ...or by people not quite realising that they have to give way to LUAS.... |

I drove to Dublin early yesterday and back again early this morning and a thought struck me. There are loads on new signs in the country on N and lower class roads, on my route home from work there are 6 or 7 between Annacotty roundabout in Limerick and Birdhill on the N7 - probably overkill. It was more noticable in Dublin that there aren't enough to be seen, so it seems there is an inconsistency in how they have been put up. Since some limits have also been reviewed as part ofthe exercise, there needs to be more signage of urban limits.

Not outside one school in Co. Donegal, if I remember correctly. The limit there actually went up to 100km/h (62mph).... Yes, it's Day One of speeding metrically....
There's one born every minute. This is the notorious "Photoblocker" spray. Some fly-by-night merchant called Seamus Duffy was shown plugging the product on "SkyNews Ireland" today. Rest assured, fellas, it doesn't - repeat, doesn't - work and you'd be wasting your 35 Euro (and be a mug) if you bought it. I'm sure solicitors the length and breadth of Saorstat Eireann will be rubbing their hands in anticipation of clients who want to sue the makers and retailers of "Photoblocker" when they find that what they've bought is not much more than distilled water in a propellant-filled can..... I dont think any of that stuff works - Read a lot of tests a while back in some car mag and they all failed miserably.
Could opt for the Top Gear solution of 180mph+ as the camera doesn't get the second pic Can't believe it this morning from the Black Church - Naas side of Rathcoole 60kph the whole way to the Motorway - no road works on this side Madness!!!!!!!!! |

Does anyone know what this spray people are buying in from England, as reported on the news th is morning? Can it really work to overexpose the picture taken and make the reg plate unreadable? Seems far fetched - I hope the people aen't disappointed to get their picture through the door complete with reg number! |

Some cases have been thrown out recently on this technicality, but I don't know if all judges are following this lead. It could be a bit like judge windell (spelling) that used to sit in Dublin years ago. Every now and then he'd get annoyed and throw out loads of driving related cases, parking, etc. |

They can't issue receipts and neither can the police in the UK and the rest of Europe because they all use similar equipment. This is being constantly challenged in court, but then again this is how the solicitors and barristers make their money because they are all one little group those who make the law and those who defend you in court. Only the Rich can fight the system and those that can't afford a defence get it up the A**e Topazman |

Just did two days on the road around our fair island and BEWARE raods
that you woula have driven on with no issue at 60 have now been dropped
to 80kph / 50mph.
I can see a lot of people being caught out. I think they have to issue you a reciept from the radar / laser whatever to prosecute and at the momnet not all systems are capable of this. |

Every piece of equipment has a calibration cert, and they will only show it in court if requested. Its not something they carry around in their back pocket Topazman |

Asking to see the cal cert is not an unreasonable request. However, it might invoke an unreasonable response from the Garda!
