Hello everyone, I have a 1994 M reg 520. It has a hesiation just as you press the acelerator just above idle speed and upto around 2000rpm. I heard these 24V engines have problems with the coils so I bought one and tried it on each cylinder, but it made no difference. Its hard to tell if the engine is misfiring or just hesitating bacause its quite smooth. It worse when it's warmed up and the idling is not as smooth as it should be. Someone told me the injectors may need cleaning, as this causes a weak mixture. When I took the plugs out they did indicate a lean mixture. Any help would be most appreciated.

Have a good look at all the rubber fuel and air hoses, I had two unrelated faults which gave hesitation under load. The first was a fuel leak from a split in the hose to the fuel rail down the engine front to back. The second fault was a split in the wide air hose moulding after the air metering device. I think that both faults were making the engine run lean with loss of power and vibration. New hoses helped (from a main dealer, not pricey) Hope this helps.
