hello  I pretty new to BM's and need some advice. Never owned a bmw before but always wanted one in september I bought a 97 e36 touring then two months later i had the chance to buy an 87 e32 3.0i manual which from what i understand is a bit rare.

I bought the car of a m8 who bought it on ebay ( oh cursed place) it had been sitting for a while but is in very good nick for 18 yrs. I am in the middle of a head rebuild as the guy my m8 bought it of had sheered the bolts of the exhaust manafold on No. six cylinder.

But the main reason for this post is that I have a leek of some kind down the nearside inner wing it is not brake fluid looks more like steering to me. is there any know problems to look for before i strip down the steering hydrolics???

Thanks in advanced

Simon

A man after my own heart Sydney - E36 Touring and E32 owner!

The fluid on your n/s inner wing will almost definitely be power steering fluid and will be due to a leaking pipe from the reservoir to the pump.  Mine's the same and I believe it's a common fault.  Will get round to fixing it one day...
