   Well chaps, especially Phil & Andy, my 728 was low loaded away yesterday. Had a chance to view the underside and genuine exhaust when she was in the air and they were in really good condition - who says 'e23's are rustbuckets'?!

Have arranged a test drive of my 735 next Tues/Wed depending on the weather (I won't take her out in the wet). Will report ASAP.

	That's good news Patrick, pity it was cold that weekend, and we were unable (or unwilling?) to remove that exhaust!

	In my experience the Series II E23's are not rustbuckets unless really abused/neglected, in which case any steel bodied car will become a rustbucket. The rust issues that do affect E23's also affect other BMWs and other marques of the period. rust in such areas as sunroof, door/wing bottoms, screen frames, sills. the worst rusters around the time were Jags & Alfas??? what rustbuckets they were.
